Professional Web Design for Accountants

Tell Us About Your Project

If you have an accounting firm, we can help you with a great website. We specialise in creating websites for accounting firms, and have built dozens of websites for accounting and other professional services clients.

You can be confident we know how to design, build and deliver exactly what you need to achieve your business goals, provide the important information your clients expect, and solve problems for your clients.

Discover Our Professional Services Websites

The proof is in the projects.

To get an idea of what we can do for you, take a look at some of the accounting and professional services websites we designed and built for others.

Budgets & Pricing

Your professional accountant website will vary in cost, depending on the functionality required.

To keep things simple, we work on an hourly rate. We charge the same rate for all of our web design specialists and our digital marketing specialists. This single rate is convenient for us to quickly do our pricing estimates, and because we charge by the hour, it’s all easy to follow and totally transparent for you.

Our standard hourly rate is $120/hr + GST. We know this rate is a lot lower than other comparable web design agencies charge, which is one of the reasons new clients are attracted to us. We don’t have fancy offices and we keep our overheads low, so we can keep our rates low.

Firstly, we take the time to understand your firm, specific requirements. and budget. Expect a lot of questions because it is essential we get a deep understanding so we can provide you with our best guidance and advice. This can be done over the phone, on a video call or over coffee if you prefer.

Provide an Estimate & Recommendations

After we investigate your requirements, we come back to you with our recommendations and a ball-park estimate of how long each part of the project will take to complete e.g. Planning 4 – 8 hours, Design 16 – 24 hours, Development 24 – 32 hours etc. (These numbers are examples only, and the estimates for your website may be more or less. We’ll only know once we understand your specific requirements.) You review our recommendations and if necessary, we can adjust what is included to suit your budget.

In some cases, it may make sense to launch your new website and then add additional new functionality in several stages after the launch. This approach is often easier to budget for, and has the added benefit that you can notify your clients each time a valuable new feature is added to your website. It’s good to give your clients new reasons to visit your website!

During the investigation, we will also identify if our SEO services can help your business and your website. It is always better to incorporate Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) best practices into the design process of a new website, rather than only thinking about SEO after the website is launched. Since most accounting firms operate within a specific location, SEO is usually a key digital marketing channel to get your accounting business in front of local clients and generate new business.

Building your site for SEO requires an SEO specialist to be involved in the planning stage and often to assist in the preparation of your content and metadata. This ‘SEO Specialist’ time is additional to the standard ‘design and build’ time and cost for your new website.

Sitemap Planning & SEO Recommendations (optional)

If an SEO-friendly site is identified as a requirement, we conduct keyword research to help plan the sitemap, navigation structure and menu, new page suggestions, features, relevant SEO tools, page layouts and URLs.

If you’re moving from an old accountant website to a new accountancy website built by Concise, we will also map out the ‘redirects’ from the old to the new URLs. These redirects are added when the new site is launched to replace your old site, and ensure that any backlinks and bookmarks going to pages on the old site will still work and will automatically redirect website visitors to the correct page on your new site.

We also ensure your current listings in Google’s index are preserved as much as possible for your new website. It can take years to build up good visibility and prominence for your web pages within Google. When you launch a new website, you need to carefully plan any changes to the URL structure of your website and it always pays to get good SEO advice first so you don’t lose your Google juice.

Design Mockups

The next stage of building your new website is to create a unique design to highlight your brand, identity and expertise.

Typically, we create a ‘wireframe’ outline showing the page layout of the key elements of the homepage for both mobile and desktop. We then design graphic mockups of the mobile and desktop homepages.

You review those designs, provide your feedback and tell us any suggestions or alterations that are needed. Once the home page designs are approved, we move on to create the designs for standard internal pages and any pages that need specific designs for special functionality or user interactivity.

Because we are experts in accounting website design, we can show you different examples of other accountancy websites and some of the important web design best practices to follow. We can quickly show you different design options to help fast-track the web design process.

Development & Walkthrough

Once you approve all the designs, we move on to developing your website.

If your accounting website is to be integrated with other online systems you use, then we may test the integrations on your development website to make sure everything is working as it should.

When your new site is ready for you to inspect, we give you the password access to the development site so you can test it and provide feedback. We also walk you through the backend admin console and show you how everything works.

Your Content

The content for your website needs to be added to create your web pages. You can supply and add all of the relevant content, or we can create and add your content for you. We’re happy either way, and we can do as much work or as little work on this as you wish.

If you create the content for your accounting website, then you need to provide the content to us in a timely and organised manner so the website can be launched on time for you.

Concise Digital can assist you with the website content. We can proof-read and edit the content you provide, or we can write fresh content from scratch. We have an excellent team of writers and we can work from your notes and brochures or we can interview you and your team. We then write the content for your approval. We also have graphic designers who can prepare images to use on the website.

Many websites need good photos and videos. We don’t do this work in-house, but we can recommend people to you.

If SEO is important to your website, your content needs to be written, reviewed and optimised by our SEO specialists. Our specialists will optimise the content using on-page SEO techniques and natural language processing like keyword inclusion in the headings and body text, the inclusion of lists, internal and external linking and adding metadata. Correctly optimised and professionally written web content will allow you to rank better for important keywords in search engines and convert more leads.

User Experience & Functionality Testing

After the website development is complete and the website content is added, we go through the new website and test each page for how it displays on desktop and mobile devices. We make adjustments to ensure the pages display well for optimum usability. We will also check that all areas are fully functional and troubleshoot any issues.

Hosting

The next stage is to set up your website hosting and ensure it is working perfectly ready to go ‘live’.

At Concise Digital, we have our own hosting servers as part of AWS, and we have our own Hosting Support Team available 24/7 coverage to provide ongoing technical support to all of our hosting clients. (This is important, as very few web design agencies are big enough to have their own hosting support technical team.)

SEO Migration Checklist (optional)

If we are migrating your website from another platform, we will implement an SEO migration checklist to reduce the chance of any drops in your rankings and organic traffic. This involves tasks like implementing redirects, copying across your previous metadata, updating internal links with new URLs and much more.

Go Live & Testing

This is when we make your new website live to the world. As part of this process, we immediately test the site to ensure everything is working properly across all devices.

Follow Up Chat

Your website project does not stop with the launch of the site. Really, the launch is just the start of the next stage for your business.

We stay in touch with you and help you through any teething issues you may have. One important area is to help you understand what is happening on your accounting website. This is where your ‘website analytics’ provides you with vital intelligence.

A couple of weeks after your website has gone live is usually a good time for us to talk with you and to go through your initial reports in Google Analytics. We can also provide suggestions on digital marketing strategies you can implement to help grow your online presence, attract traffic to your website and gain potential clients.

Have a Question About Our Accounting Website Design?

Does It Matter Where My Accounting Practice Is Located?

No, we have clients all over Australia and even overseas. We can work with you wherever you are located. We’re always happy to meet in person if that is suitable, but these days, most of our client meetings are online using Google Meet, Zoom or phone so your physical location doesn’t matter. We have even built a website for an accounting and business advisory business in the United Kingdom.

How Much Does It Cost to Host My Website With Concise Digital?

Hosting fees vary depending on the size of your website, the processing power needed to quickly serve your website pages, the amount of data being stored and the amount of visitor traffic to your website. Fees also vary depending on whether you want regular backups of your website data or not.

For a good accounting website, we always recommend regular backups, and we include anti-spam and anti-hacker systems for increased security protection. Our smallest hosting plan of this type is $20 per month and that may be adequate, but typically website hosting for an accounting firm’s website is in the range of $30 – $50 per month.

There is plenty more info on our web hosting page.

How Long Does It Take To Build a New Accounting Website?

We normally allow 6 to 10 weeks as a guide to building a new website, but it does vary and the times could be a lot shorter or perhaps even longer.

The reality is that the time-frame depends on what needs to be built, what planning and preparation has already been done and who is going to get the content ready.

An important factor is timely approvals of our work. As an example, design is usually an iterative process, and if multiple design versions are required or if you have a committee that needs to meet to review and approve our design work, then this can add time to the project.

Content is the biggest issue. After many years of experience, we know the biggest time-delay factor in website projects is the supply of content for the website pages. Most clients are already busy enough in their business, and despite the best of intentions at the start, most clients do not easily find the time to focus on writing pages of content needed for a website. Some clients have their own copywriters available, but most do not.

This is why it usually makes good sense to get the expert writing team and SEO specialists at Concise Digital involved at the start of the website project so that we can plan exactly what content is needed for the best results. We then prepare the drafts and pass it to you for your review and approval. It’s a much faster and stress-free approach, and usually ends up with better content for your website as well.

Urgent projects can often be fast-tracked to fit required deadlines, so if you need a new website built in a very short time, let’s talk. We’ll quickly let you know if we can fit it in.

Will My New Accountant Website Be Easily Found in Google?

We’d love to say ‘Yes’, but the honest answer is ‘It depends’.

Your rankings in Google depend on many factors, including the search terms used and who else currently ranks for these search terms.

If your new website is replacing an existing website and you are already easily found in Google, then YES, we can build your new site so your rankings in Google are maintained.

If you are getting a new website for a totally new business, or your current website is not easily found in Google, then achieving high rankings in Google Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs) can be challenging and time-consuming.

Fast-tracking this usually requires expert help, which is why we have an expert team of SEO specialists with the skills and experience you will need.

To start with, our SEO specialists can conduct research to find the best, most suitable and least competitive keyword search terms that are likely to be used by customers to find a business such as yours.

The SEO research includes identifying which competitors are already ranking for these keywords, and defining exactly what you will need to do to rank your pages ahead of them. Your new pages need to displace the currently ranked pages of your competitors, and this will take skilful work and time.

Google Ads can be expensive but can give quick and accountable results. If you want to be easily found in Google in a very quick time-frame, then Google Ads are the best way to achieve this. Concise Digital has an expert team of Google Ad specialists who plan, implement and monitor Google Ad campaigns for our clients.
