As a guide, a good school website typically costs around $3k to $5k, but we’ve built good school websites ranging from $800 for a very basic school website to more than $20,000 for a very advanced site with custom-features.

Some schools like to spend a bit more, especially if they need their website to include lots of special features unique to them, custom-designed functionality, or require additional graphic design. As an example, a boarding school may want to include specific features or highlight why the boarding school is such a unique experience for rural, remote or international boarding students.

Our pricing is simple and transparent. We work on an hourly rate, regardless of the type of service (We save money on admin, and we pass this saving on to you with a lower rate.)

Either way, if your budget is say $5k, then we know we have around 50 hours or less to do the web design and build of your new website.

And there are NO ongoing fees.

We like to take the time to understand your school and your web design requirements. When we chat, you can expect a lot of questions.

It’s essential that we have a good understanding of the school’s culture and values. We want to know what you’re trying to achieve with your new website and your planned timeframes for the build and launch of the new website.

The key requirements for most schools is to promote the school’s unique identity and make it easier and faster for relevant information to be accessible through the website.

For some educational institutions, the primary goal of the site might be to attract prospective parents and generate enrolment enquiries from your wider community. Other schools may want to reposition the school and want to use the new website to explain their history and the new evolving story.

To streamline the website planning process, it’s often helpful to look at some of the websites we have created for other schools. Think about the design, content and features you like, and also make a note of anything you don’t like or want to improve on.

Make a ‘wish-list’ of your requirements, noting the ‘Essential’ and ‘Desirable’ feature requirements. With this list and an idea of your preferred budget, we can let you know what is possible within your budget and give you a ball-park pricing estimate for the web design project.

If you decide to work with us following the estimate, the next step is to start the design process. You will need to provide your branding guidelines and all essential design assets, like logos, photos and videos you want us to incorporate.

Our usual approach is to create a wireframe and design mockup for your homepage for both mobile and desktop. Then you review the designs and give us your feedback on any alterations you want.

After you approve the homepage designs, we create the designs for the internal pages and any pages with specific functionality.

Once all designs are signed off by you, we move on to developing your website. You will then have the chance to go through the entire site and provide feedback.

Once everything is exactly how you want it, we will walk you through the backend and show you how everything works.

The content for your website needs to be added to create your web pages. You can supply and add all of the relevant content, or we can create and add your content for you. We’re happy either way, and we can do as much work or as little work on this as you wish.

If you are creating the content for your school website, then you will need to provide the content in a timely and organised manner so that the website project can be delivered and launched on time for you.

After the site development is complete with all the content ready for launch, we will go through the site and test each page on desktop and mobile. We also check that all functionality is working correctly and troubleshoot any issues.
